Massage Therapist

Job overview

The Massage Therapist works onsite in patients’ homes and facilities, based in Downers Grove, IL, with local travel required. Pay is $35–$40 per hour, plus mileage reimbursement. Lighthouse Hospice provides hospice care and support to patients and families. The therapist provides medically prescribed massage to address comfort needs and help manage pain and stress during end-of-life care. In coordination with the interdisciplinary group, the role evaluates patient tolerance, documents responses, and communicates with the hospice care team.

What you'll do

• Evaluate patients in consultation with the interdisciplinary group
• provide massage therapy to muscles and soft tissues
• use warm compresses or vibratory devices as needed
• observe, document, and report patient responses
• maintain a calm treatment environment
• coordinate with family members, community resources, and other care disciplines
• communicate with hospice personnel.
