The Optical Measurements Systems Engineer role is onsite in Painted Post, NY; compensation is $55.62–$57.54 per hour. The position is in Corning Environmental Technologies’ Engineering Measurements & Controls group and supports metrology, inspection, and testing of Corning CET products. The engineer develops, assembles, tests, and deploys optical and computer-vision measurement systems, then helps transfer them from development into manufacturing use. The role works across engineering and operational groups to improve measurement systems and production processes and to support installed systems.

What you'll do

• Define, develop, and implement optical and computer-vision measurement systems with cross-functional groups
• transfer technology from development to manufacturing
• coordinate suppliers and purchasing
• design experiments and analyze data
• prepare machine specifications, operating procedures, and drawing packages
• train engineering, maintenance, and operations staff
• troubleshoot installed systems remotely and onsite.

Why this role

12-month assignment; requires a relevant BS/MS plus three years of hands-on machine vision and metrology experience, or a PhD in a listed field. C# and Python are strongly preferred; machine vision training or experience is required.
