Senior Cloud Security Engineer

Job overview

The Senior Cloud Security Engineer role is onsite in Washington, DC. Pay is $59–$60 per hour. The engineer designs and implements secure AWS environments, establishes security guardrails, and integrates security into development and operations. The role helps protect cloud infrastructure and applications, support compliance, and provide technical leadership and mentoring.

What you'll do

• Design secure multi-account AWS architectures, landing zones, and identity and access management
• define security standards and automated guardrails
• conduct threat modeling, risk assessments, and architecture reviews
• configure network security
• automate security with Terraform or CloudFormation and embed DevSecOps controls in CI/CD
• oversee vulnerability management, CSPM, SIEM integrations, and remediation
• align environments with listed security frameworks
• mentor junior engineers.
