The Paramedic role is onsite at St. Luke’s emergency departments in Lufkin and Livingston, TX; compensation is not specified. Integrative Emergency Services supports the St. Luke’s Health Emergency Department teams. The listed shifts at both sites are 11 a.m.–9 p.m. The paramedic provides direct patient support and helps maintain safe, efficient emergency department flow by monitoring patients, assisting with clinical tasks, tracking delays, and coordinating with triage staff and providers.

What you'll do

• Monitor and observe patients in the lobby
• update vital signs and patient information in EPIC
• assist with IV starts and phlebotomy under triage direction
• monitor orders, lab and radiology delays and escalate issues
• assist with durable medical equipment, consents, standard medically delegated orders, ultrasound-guided IVs after competency approval, and procedure setup
• collaborate with triage staff on EKGs, IVs, blood draws, and vital signs.

Why this role

PRN opportunities are available with a minimum of three shifts per month. Active Texas DSHS registration and paramedic certification/licensure are required. Ultrasound-guided IV placement is performed after competency training and approval.
