What you'll do

• Advocate for patients and provide age-specific, culturally competent, ethical care
• explain procedures and treatments
• educate patients and caregivers on wound, nutrition, medication, pain, and comfort management and expected psychosocial responses
• document nursing history and assessments
• obtain required surgery items
• develop individualized perioperative plans
• assess patient status and comfort
• maintain emergency equipment and respond to emergencies
• participate in risk management, quality review, and performance improvement
• maintain required competencies and comply with privacy, safety, and biohazard policies.
