The Senior Design Engineer — Switchgear and Power Distribution role is onsite in Enoch, UT, five days per week. Pay is $85,000–$95,000 per year. Purple Cow Recruiting is recruiting for a role responsible for designing, developing, and documenting low- and medium-voltage switchgear and power distribution systems. The engineer leads complex electrical designs, reviews technical deliverables, and provides technical guidance to design engineers and interns. The work supports compliant project delivery and coordination with manufacturing, project, and customer teams.

What you'll do

• Lead design and development of switchgear systems
• develop requirements, views, diagrams, schematics, and control circuits
• select and specify electrical components
• create and revise drawings using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical
• ensure compliance with applicable IEC, ANSI, UL, and IEEE standards
• review deliverables and peer-review less experienced engineers’ work
• mentor design engineers and interns
• collaborate with mechanical designers, project managers, and manufacturing teams
• support technical issue resolution and customer reviews.

Why this role

Requires 7+ years of switchgear or power-distribution equipment design experience, a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline, and advanced low- and medium-voltage expertise up to 38 kV. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM MST, with approximately 10% overtime as needed; travel is not required.
