Construction Engineering Technician

Job overview

The Construction Engineering Technician role is onsite in Richfield, UT, and is a full-time and seasonal position. Pay is $25–$30 per hour. The technician supports public works construction projects by assisting with onsite project management, materials testing, inspections, and reporting. The work helps ensure projects meet contract specifications, applicable codes, and local, state, and federal requirements.

What you'll do

• Assist with onsite management of construction and rehabilitation projects involving public facilities, roads, utilities, and infrastructure
• perform field and laboratory materials testing and field density testing
• review contract requirements, drawings, and construction details
• prepare reports
• inspect construction and observe assigned activities for compliance
• document non-conformance and participate in resolution
• attend project meetings, inspections, punch lists, and closeouts
• communicate project challenges to supervisors and project managers.

Why this role

Associate’s degree or equivalent experience and a background in utilities construction or inspections are required. Frequent travel by car to client and project sites; occasional night or alternate hours and overnight travel may be required. A valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record are required.
