Assistant Controller

The Assistant Controller role is onsite in Wilsonville, OR, with compensation of $100,000–$130,000 per year. The position supports Karman Space & Defense’s Space and Launch business, which delivers systems for space and defense programs. The role leads core accounting operations, cost accounting, tax filings, reporting, and process improvements to strengthen financial accuracy and support business decisions. It partners with executives and functional leaders, maintains compliance with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles, and supports development of the accounting team.

What you'll do

• Oversee daily accounting operations and GAAP adherence
• lead month-end close and support revenue recognition
• improve processes, internal controls, and system use
• support tax strategies and prepare monthly use tax filings
• manage program cost tracking, budget analysis, profitability reporting, and high-value purchase order review
• prepare and analyze budgets, reports, and trends for executive and board reporting
• oversee material and vendor selection and support capital equipment purchasing
• support customer contract negotiation and administration
• coach and mentor accounting team members.
