The Domestic Violence Shelter Advocate works onsite in Festus, MO, for $18 per hour. The part-time schedule is Monday and Wednesday from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, totaling 24 hours weekly. The advocate provides crisis support, safety planning, and educational advocacy to adults and children affected by domestic and sexual violence. The role helps residents access resources, address immediate needs, and build safety and resilience while also supporting shelter operations.

What you'll do

• Respond to crisis hotline calls with referrals and support
• assist residents with immediate needs, safety planning, and goal-setting
• facilitate community support groups and participate in resident activities
• complete intake paperwork and maintain records
• support donation management and facility sanitation
• provide resident transportation as needed and available
• participate in training and agency meetings
• care for resident animals.
