Residential Life Associate

Job overview

The Residential Life Associate role is onsite in Paterson, NJ, with assignments across Straight and Narrow programs in Passaic, Paterson, and Secaucus. Compensation is $17–$18 per hour. Straight and Narrow provides services to people experiencing substance use and co-occurring disorders. The role supports clients in structured residential treatment and halfway-house settings by maintaining supervision, safety, and daily structure. Through regular wellness rounds, documentation, and coordination with clinical, medical, and administrative staff, it helps sustain a therapeutic environment and reinforce clients’ treatment goals.

What you'll do

• Supervise and support clients
• complete and document rounds at least every 30 minutes
• monitor and document client behavior in the EHR
• maintain safe and orderly client areas
• document incidents and shift activity
• escort or transport clients as assigned
• support crisis intervention and de-escalation
• follow Medicaid documentation and credentialing requirements.
