The Academic Tutor & Mentor (City Year AmeriCorps Member) is an onsite, full-time position located in Foxboro, MA. Compensation is not specified beyond a bi-weekly living stipend and benefits, supporting City Year's mission to help students succeed in schools. This role exists to provide coaching and mentoring to elementary, middle, or high school students. The tutor contributes to team goals by planning and monitoring individual student progress, assisting with classroom instruction, and fostering positive behaviors to help students thrive.

What you'll do

• Work with identified students 1:1 and in small groups
• Develop literacy and/or math skills varying learning activities by student level
• Create and implement a behavior management system for students
• Develop interpersonal skills throughout their day
• Collaborate with teachers and team members to collect, record, analyze and monitor individual student progress
• Create an engaging, safe and healthy classroom space
• Support and/or conduct extended day and virtual programming
• Create, support and/or co-lead events or programs that recognize and appreciate student growth.
