What you'll do

• Produce images in accordance with ARRT and NMTCB standards.
• Perform within the guidelines set by the Bureau of Radiation Control, Hospital Policies and Procedures Manual and the Radioactive Materials License.
• Ensure all regulations are in compliance.
• Provide services using radioisotopes to assist in the diagnosis or treatment of disease.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the human structure and functions, patient care, positioning, principles of nuclear medicine, radiation protection and specialized techniques.
• Exercise professional judgment in performance of services and maintain a demeanor complementary of medical ethics.
• Participate in providing patient specific care standards.
• Consistently produce scans of optimal diagnostic quality on patients ranging from Neonatal to Geriatric.
• Follow established protocols for imaging and isotopes dosage.
• Operate all Nuclear Medicine cameras, computers and related equipment.
• Complete quality scans in a timely manner.
• Demonstrate proficiency in scanning trauma, acute & challenging patients.
• Possess knowledge of disease processes, adequately image these findings and communicate them to the Radiologist.
• Perform radioactive therapy procedures.
• Employ techniques to minimize radiation exposure.
• Adhere to radiation plan.
• Explain procedures to patients and family.
• Maintain awareness of patient safety, patient privacy, confidentiality and dignity.

What we're looking for

Education

Graduate of an educational program in radiology accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or equivalent

Experience

Two to three years as a previous experience as a Radiologic Tech (Preferred)
