Job overview

The Early Head Start Teacher II role is onsite in Los Angeles, CA, with compensation of $24.85–$28.82 per hour. The Mexican American Opportunity Foundation’s Education Services Component supports children’s development and helps parents reinforce learning at home. The teacher plans and delivers developmentally appropriate activities based on children’s strengths, observations, and assessments. The role supports children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth while partnering with families and maintaining a safe, inclusive classroom environment.

What you'll do

  • Plan and implement individual and group activities and weekly lesson plans
  • supervise children and maintain classroom safety
  • conduct daily health checks
  • document observations and developmental progress
  • support children with special needs and implement applicable service plans
  • conduct parent conferences and home visits
  • communicate with families, including in their primary language when possible
  • coordinate classroom routines, volunteers, supplies, and required program documentation.

Why this role

Requires an associate degree in Early Childhood Education and/or Child Development and current coursework toward a bachelor’s degree; California Children’s Center Permit or Child Development Teacher Permit; two years of paid experience with children ages 0–5; and English-Spanish bilingual ability.
