Vac Truck Helper

The Vac Truck Helper role is onsite in Birmingham, AL, paying $16–$21 per hour. The position supports Atakapa Services’ work inspecting, cleaning and rehabilitating underground wastewater and drainage infrastructure for municipalities, utilities and engineering firms. The helper assists vacuum truck operations and maintenance, supports safe material handling and disposal, documents work, coordinates with the team and participates in emergency response when needed.

What you'll do

• Assist the vacuum truck operator with collecting, transporting and disposing of materials
• follow equipment safety procedures
• conduct routine maintenance checks and pre- and post-trip inspections
• comply with environmental, health and safety rules
• maintain job and disposal records
• coordinate with team members, supervisors and clients
• report equipment or site concerns
• participate in spill, accident and disaster response.
