HVAC/R Startup Technician

Job overview

The HVAC/R Startup Technician role is onsite in Virginia Beach, VA. Pay is $35–$45 per hour, depending on experience, with a sign-on bonus of up to $7,500, depending on experience. The client is described as a national leader in commercial and industrial refrigeration and HVAC. The technician starts up and supports supermarket refrigeration systems, performs system checks, and works on energy optimization and related upgrades. The role helps ensure refrigeration systems operate correctly and supports branches with troubleshooting and training for junior technicians and foremen.

What you'll do

• Start up supermarket parallel rack and individual refrigeration systems
• evacuate parallel racks after verifying pressure tests
• wire and program EMS systems, including CPC, Novar, and Danfoss
• lead small projects such as case and condenser changeouts
• support retro-commissioning, EMS and leak-detection upgrades, and gas conversions
• help branches with problem stores
• train junior technicians and foremen.
