Automatic Press Operator — Stamping Department

The Automatic Press Operator role is onsite in Carol Stream, IL. Compensation is $18–$22 per hour based on qualifications and experience; second-shift employees receive a $1-per-hour differential. FIC America is an automotive-components manufacturer producing stamped and welded products. The operator sets up and runs automatic presses to shape metal parts to specification. By monitoring machine operation, inspecting completed parts, recording production information, and following safety and quality procedures, the role supports the Stamping Department’s production of automotive components.

What you'll do

• Set up and operate transfer or blanking presses
• start machines and monitor operations
• record operational data
• inspect completed parts against specifications
• adjust machine speeds or actions according to procedures
• report defects and operating difficulties
• perform basic troubleshooting and minor adjustments
• clean presses
• complete inspection and operation paperwork
• follow work instructions, safety procedures, IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards
• perform 5-S activities
• cross-train and work required overtime, potentially including Saturdays.
