The Residential Counselor — Youth Recovery role is onsite in Lakewood, CO. Pay is $50,000 annually ($24.04 per hour) for the high-school/GED salary grade, or $55,000 annually ($26.45 per hour) for the bachelor’s-degree grade. Jefferson Center’s Youth Residential Recovery program provides 30 days of structured care for adolescents facing substance use challenges. The counselor provides day-to-day guidance, safety, and support to adolescents in early recovery, using trauma-informed and addiction-treatment principles. Documentation, activities, medication support, and coordination with the care team contribute to residents’ stability and treatment and discharge planning.

What you'll do

• Provide milieu management, guidance, safety, stability, and direction
• de-escalate potentially dangerous situations
• document admissions, shift notes, discharges, sessions, medication occurrences, and incidents
• monitor vital signs and behavior as needed
• assist with activities and psychoeducation groups
• administer medications per QMAP standards
• assist with breath alcohol testing and random urine drug testing
• coordinate treatment referrals
• support unit chores and collaborate with kitchen staff
• follow OSHA and center policies.
