Purchasing Representative

The Purchasing Representative role is onsite in Sterling, IL, paying $17.50–$21.50 per hour. The position supports purchasing at Mallard Manufacturing, a MacLean-Fogg company, by helping ensure materials and supplies are obtained accurately and on time. The representative processes purchase requests and orders, coordinates with suppliers, maintains purchasing and inventory records, and supports cost savings and process improvements. The work helps meet organizational purchasing needs while maintaining appropriate stock levels and supplier follow-through.

What you'll do

• Process purchase requests and prepare purchase orders
• research catalogs and vendor databases and compare pricing
• maintain purchasing records for materials, pricing, inventory, delivery schedules, and documentation
• obtain supplier quotations, negotiate terms, and follow up on orders
• support cost-saving initiatives and process improvements
• own supplier projects and meetings
• monitor inventory and reorder points
• provide guidance to junior staff as needed.
