Prototype Machinist / NPI Technician

The Prototype Machinist / NPI Technician role is onsite in Hayward, CA; the posting lists $38–$50 per hour. The machinist works alongside Therm-x’s NPI Engineering team to develop new heater, sensor, source, and cathode designs into working parts.

What you'll do

• Program, set up, and operate a 5-axis Okuma mill and CNC lathe to produce prototype parts, tools, and fixtures. Create and verify CAM toolpaths
• select tools, feeds, speeds, and workholding
• interpret engineering drawings and tolerances
• inspect parts and record First Article Inspection results. Collaborate with mechanical engineers on drawing and manufacturability issues, assist with test fixtures and prototype assembly, and maintain a clean, safe prototyping cell.

Why this role
