Job overview

The Senior Python Engineer, Pre-Trade (Gas & Power) role is hybrid in Houston, TX, with at least three onsite days per week. Compensation is not specified. The engineer will support a key client in the energy trading industry, building a greenfield data ingestion platform for market workflows.

What you'll do

• Design and build AWS cloud-native applications, APIs, microservices, and event-driven pipelines
• develop Python backend services and automation for high-volume energy data
• architect services for market data, pricing, analytics, and pre-trade workflows
• codify infrastructure with Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation
• build CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and observability
• implement security practices
• tune performance, reliability, scalability, and AWS costs
• lead architecture and code reviews.
