People Operations Generalist

The People Operations Generalist role is hybrid in Charlotte, NC, with at least three days onsite each week. Compensation is $55,000–$60,000 per year. McLeod Centers for Wellbeing is a nonprofit provider of substance use disorder treatment, focused on healing and hope through equity, education, and evidence-based practice. The generalist supports the employee lifecycle through recruiting, employee relations, compliance, HR operations, and engagement. The role helps managers and employees navigate workplace matters while maintaining accurate records and consistent practices across the organization.

What you'll do

• Manage full-cycle recruiting and onboarding
• advise employees and managers on policies and employee relations
• participate in or conduct investigations when appropriate
• support performance management, leave, and accommodations
• maintain HRIS records and personnel files
• support benefits administration, compliance training, employee engagement, and retention initiatives.

Why this role

Hybrid arrangement requires at least three onsite days weekly; three to five years of progressive HR experience is strongly preferred; PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification is preferred but not required.
