Field Service Technician

Job overview

Field Service Technician is based in Harrisburg, SD; remote candidates in Iowa, Minnesota, Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan may be considered if exceptional. Compensation is $80,000–$100,000+ per year based on an average 50-hour week; starting pay is $28–$36 per hour depending on experience, plus overtime and per diem. The role supports RMS Roller-Grinder’s design, build, and service of machinery for customers. The technician services roller mills and related equipment at customer facilities, performing maintenance, repairs, roll changes, and commissioning. The role also trains customer crews, communicates findings and recommendations, and relays field observations to engineering to help improve machines.

What you'll do

• Perform roll changes, including replacing worn rolls and bearings
• conduct machine wellness visits and identify maintenance needs
• start up and commission new installations
• respond to maintenance and breakdown calls
• train customer operators and maintenance crews
• explain work, findings, and recommendations to customers
• report field observations to engineering
• maintain accurate job paperwork, reporting, and billing.
