Chemical Process Operator

Job overview

The Chemical Process Operator role is onsite in Hammond, IN, with compensation of $35.10–$40.10 per hour. The operator supports production of customer-specified products using area equipment. The role exists to operate and monitor production equipment safely and efficiently, maintain process conditions, and produce material to specification. The operator also records production information, checks samples with Quality Control, and responds to equipment or process issues.

What you'll do

• Charge raw materials into reactors and transfer products to storage vessels
• operate area equipment within established limits
• diagnose process or mechanical upsets and adjust operations
• open valves and start pumps
• record operating data and material transfers
• use AS 400/Infinium and Microsoft D365 as needed
• operate a forklift
• inspect work areas and equipment
• take samples to Quality Control
• follow emergency and safety procedures.
