The Postdoctoral Appointee is an onsite role based in Lemont, IL, with a salary range of $72,879 - $121,465 per year. This position supports the Microscopy group in the X-ray Science Division of the Advanced Photon Source (APS). The role exists to support instrumentation development for X-ray fluorescence tomography with a focus on bioimaging of soil aggregates. The appointee develops experimental apparatus and data processing pipelines for multimodal imaging.

What you'll do

• Support instrumentation development for X-ray fluorescence tomography at beamline 2-ID-E and 2-ID-D.
• Develop a novel multiscale multimodal experimental apparatus with precise control during data acquisition.
• Work on data processing pipeline, adaptable to imaging of energy-conversion or biological systems.
• Lead the effort in multimodal data analysis at the APS beamlines.
• Design experiments and address fundamental and/or applied scientific questions.
