The Director of Engineering – Forward Deployed Engineering role is onsite in Bodega Bay, CA, with compensation of $300,000–$415,000 per year. Hadrian builds autonomous factories and manufacturing software for aerospace, defense, and other mission-critical systems. The director owns technical outcomes for one or more customer programs, guiding work from early scoping through production. The role leads engineers, product managers, and designers while translating program learnings into improvements to Hadrian’s Opus platform and products.

What you'll do

• Own technical roadmaps and delivery for assigned programs
• determine what the Opus platform covers and what needs to be built
• bring program learnings to platform teams
• serve as primary technical contact for customer program leadership, government stakeholders, and prime partners
• lead technical reviews and scope and schedule discussions
• hire and develop engineers, product managers, and designers
• remain hands-on with early builds and review shipped work.
