The Health Advocate role is onsite in Utica, NY, serving individuals who live in Arc residences across Oneida County. Pay is $18.50 per hour. The position is part of The Arc Oneida-Lewis Nursing Services Team, supporting people with disabilities in accessing healthcare. The Health Advocate coordinates healthcare visits and acts as a liaison among providers, supported individuals, families, Residential Services, and nursing. By arranging appointments, preparing and routing health records, providing transportation, and following up on medication orders, the role helps ensure continuity of care and direct support during medical visits.

What you'll do

• Schedule appointments with primary care, dental, eye care, clinics, laboratories, audiologists, and other specialists
• log appointments in Therap and house calendars
• complete healthcare reports before appointments
• return reports and consultation sheets to the IRA and appropriate recipients
• follow up on medication orders and related requirements
• provide transportation and support during medical appointments.

Why this role

High school diploma or GED or CNA licensure is required; a valid New York State driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required. Experience supporting people with intellectual and other disabilities is preferred.
