Job overview

The Relief Residential Assistant – Kona role is onsite in Kailua-Kona, HI, with an as-needed schedule to cover shifts. The hourly pay range is $16–$18. Mental Health Kokua supports residents with mental health challenges as they build life skills and work toward greater independence. The assistant provides direct resident support, helps maintain a safe and respectful home, and assists with daily living, medication self-administration, and program activities. The role contributes to residents’ recovery goals through supervision, documentation, and coordination with supervisors and case managers.

What you'll do

• Mentor residents and support daily living skills
• assist with cooking, budgeting, personal care, and household responsibilities
• respond to emergencies and document incidents
• monitor resident wellness and behavior
• oversee self-administration of medication as appropriate
• assist with shopping, cleaning, and maintenance coordination
• participate in recreational, vocational, and educational outings
• complete progress notes and service plans
• communicate with supervisors and case managers
• cover shifts as needed.
