Director of Mountain Operations

Job overview

The Director of Mountain Operations role is onsite in Champion, PA, with a stated pay range of $95,000–$120,000 per year, plus annual bonus and equity. The director oversees mountain operations at Seven Springs, Hidden Valley, and Laurel Mountain, and serves on the resorts’ Senior Leadership Team. The role leads mountain operations departments and contributes to resort goals through strategic planning, budgeting, workforce development, safety, and operational oversight. It also supports a safe, inclusive workplace and a positive guest experience across the resorts.

What you'll do

• Oversee Ski Patrol, Lift Maintenance, Lift Experience, Grooming and Trail Maintenance, Snowmaking, Terrain Parks, and Fleet Maintenance
• manage departmental budgets and workforce planning
• develop leaders and evaluate performance
• improve employee safety
• maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• partner on the Emergency Response Plan and serve as Incident Commander in emergencies
• ensure records and permits are current
• represent Vail Resorts with local community stakeholders as needed.
