The Food Unit Lead role is onsite in Charlotte, NC. Pay is $17–$19 per hour. The position supports Chartwells Higher Ed’s campus food-service operation at UNC Charlotte. The role coordinates food-service employees and helps create an enjoyable dining experience for customers, staff, and visitors. It oversees and participates in food preparation and service, supports efficient meal service, trains and coordinates employees, and maintains sanitation, safety, inventory, cash, and reporting processes.

What you'll do

• Provide attentive customer service
• oversee and participate in food and beverage preparation and service in accordance with presentation, sanitation, safety, and portion-control standards
• help plan menus
• supervise meal service
• respond to complaints
• train employees and assign and coordinate work
• prepare work schedules and expedite workflow
• complete required reports
• handle cash
• order food and supplies from approved sources
• direct and participate in facility sanitation and safety
• develop and maintain cleaning schedules
• help select and orient employees.
