The Materials Lab Technician is an onsite role based in Peterboro, NY. The pay is $25.09 per hour. This role supports the aerospace alloy manufacturing operations at Superior Metals Manufacturing, a Consolidated Precision Products company. This role performs chemical analysis, tests, and investigations on metal samples and alloys for product certification and metallurgical control. The technician operates lab instrumentation, prepares samples, and ensures compliance with industry standards in a state-of-the-art facility.

What you'll do

• Operation of all lab instrumentation.
• Produce product certifications and perform alloy identification of samples using the lab equipment.
• Recognize results that fall outside of allowable specification ranges.
• Troubleshoot and identify cause(s) of equipment malfunctions, with the ability to repair such malfunctions when possible.
• Manage/maintain all data, forms, reports, testing, and communications.
• Create and maintain procedures that meet the requirements of NADCAP, AS9100, ISO17025, and all other required OEM accreditations.
• Maintain test samples and record keeping for all master heats of alloy.
• Read and interpret blueprints, customer specifications, industry standards, quality control documents and work instructions.
• Participate and perform round robin testing both internal and external.
• Properly maintain the testing equipment used in the lab.
