Physical Therapist - Per Diem. This is an onsite position in Weymouth, MA. Compensation is not specified. Boston Children's Hospital is a leading pediatric hospital dedicated to improving the health and well-being of children. The purpose of this role is to complete comprehensive physical therapy assessments, develop and implement individualized treatment programs, and provide education to patients and families.
What you'll do
- Completing comprehensive physical therapy assessment in alignment with department standards and guidelines for pediatric patients.
- Reviewing patient medical history/record and selects, administers, and interprets standardized and non-standardized tests and measurements to assess patients’ functional status related to cardiopulmonary, developmental, musculoskeletal, neurological, and sensorimotor function.
- Integrating knowledge into clinical decisions and recommendations
- Developing and implementing individualized patient treatment programs.
- Establishing treatment goals and administers appropriate physical therapy procedures and modalities
- Discharge plans and home treatment programs, and providing education to patients and families
- Recommending orthotics, adaptive/assistive equipment, and technology for patients with complex, rare, or multiple dysfunctions.
- Liaison with equipment designers and vendors regarding equipment specifications and patient needs.
- Training patients, families, and caretakers in the use/operation of prescribed orthotics/equipment, monitoring and evaluating effectiveness, and initiating modifications as needed.
- Recording assessments, diagnoses, and treatment inpatient medical records according to established documentation standards.
- Preparing reports, correspondence, referrals, and other materials for schools, providers, payers, and others as needed.
- Assigning standardized billing codes and corresponding charges required for reimbursement.

- Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy
- Experience
- Minimum one to two years of previous PT experience, pediatric hospital based preferred.
