The Optician role is onsite at the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System in North Las Vegas, NV. The optician provides dispensing services to eligible VA beneficiaries, fitting VA-provided eyeglasses to prescriptions from VA optometry or ophthalmology providers. The role supports timely patient service, accurate documentation, and continuity of clinic operations.

What you'll do

• Measure, fit, and dispense VA-provided eyeglasses
• assist with frame selection and lifestyle needs assessment
• take pupillary distance, segment height, and base curve measurements
• perform minor repairs and adjustments
• verify prescription specifications and communicate with VA providers without altering prescriptions
• document services in CPRS/EHR
• support VA quality and compliance requirements.
