MRI Technologist

Job overview

MRI Technologist in McAllen, TX. This is an onsite position. Compensation is not specified. This role exists to assist the physician in performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures, review and complete appropriate paperwork, and transport patients. The technologist will also monitor equipment, explain procedures to patients, and position patients on the examining table.

What you'll do

• Responsible for assisting the physician to perform magnetic resonance imaging procedures.
• Responsible for reviewing and completing appropriate paperwork on every patient as required including exam, scheduling, physician orders, department logs, imaging records, consents, medical records, and patient charges.
• Responsible for transporting patients to and from their rooms and ER.
• Responsible for monitoring the equipment for mechanical safety.
• Responsible for explaining procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
• Responsible for positioning patients on examining table and adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified are of body requested by Physician.
• Work as a team player and meet the needs of the Diagnostic Imaging Department.

Education

Graduate of an accredited program for Technologist is required

Experience

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a hospital-imaging department is required
