The Hourly Lifeguard role is onsite at The Fresh Air Fund’s summer camps in the Hudson Valley, NY; the listing location is Beacon, NY. Compensation is $18–$22 per hour. The Fresh Air Fund provides outdoor experiences and year-round programs for New York City children from underserved communities. The lifeguard oversees swimming and boating activities, teaches lessons, and helps keep campers safe at the waterfront. The role includes maintaining waterfront facilities, following emergency procedures, participating in rescue practice, and submitting required evaluations and records to the Waterfront Director.

What you'll do

• Supervise free swim, boating activities, and waterfront events
• instruct swim lessons and boating classes
• maintain waterfront, boating, and fishing facilities in compliance with safety regulations
• participate in swimming, boating, and rescue practice
• follow emergency procedures and assist with buddy systems and checks
• submit required evaluations and records to the Waterfront Director.
