Mobile Phlebotomist

What you'll do

• Verify patient identity using at least two unique identifiers
• check test requisitions
• collect blood and other specimens using venipuncture or fingerstick
• label and document samples for transport
• collect blood cultures without contamination
• follow collection instructions for timed, fasting, or random samples
• explain collection procedures for urine, stool, sputum, and culture swabs
• follow facility safety protocols, Universal Precautions, OSHA standards, and HIPAA requirements
• maintain collection tallies and request supplies as needed.
