What you'll do

• Achieve Maintenance goals with a focus on employee safety.
• Support troubleshooting and observations of machine centers with shift supervisors and other maintenance staff.
• Manage department costs to assure optimum manufacturing unit cost.
• Develop and educate key metrics.
• Perform Maintenance Planning, plan non-emergency maintenance, and coordinate PM routes.
• Communicate goals and instructions effectively.
• Manage conflicts.
• Supervise Maintenance and Cleanup personnel on varying schedules.
• Manage contractor safety.
• Maintain sawmill equipment including De-Barkers, Gang Edgers, Trimmer, Sorter, Stacker, Conveyors, Chippers, Blowers, Hydraulic Systems, Pneumatic Systems.
• Ensure safety of the crew (Lock-Out Procedures, FLRA, Safety Audits).
• Arrange WF Training and mentor apprentices.
• Create and plan improvement projects.
• Manage parts with the purchaser.
• Handle scheduling and attendance.
• Periodic weekend coverage.
• Inspect completed work.

What we're looking for

Education

Two or Four-year degree preferred

Experience

Prior Journeyman Electrician or Millwright. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Well organized. Minimum of five years (plus) of industrial experience. Leadership and communication skills. Two or Four-year degree preferred. Prior Supervisory experience preferred.
