The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) serves as a caregiver to residents during their scheduled work period in long-term care. This role provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse, focusing on age-appropriate care and the physical and psychological needs of the resident.

What you'll do

• Serves as caregiver to the resident during the scheduled work period in long term care.
• Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned resident under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
• Delivers age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the resident as per care plan.
• Provides assistance with basic health care needs including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psychosocial support.
• Assists the resident in transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct techniques and equipment.
• Completes tasks related to food preparation and dining, and assists residents with meals and snacks.
• Documents resident interactions and care provided.
• Communicates resident's changing condition and care related concerns to the charge nurse.
• Provides housekeeping and laundry services.
• May participate in wellness and recreational programs.

What we're looking for

Education

High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.

Experience

Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
