Pastry Cook — Bakery Production

Job overview

The Pastry Cook role is onsite in Ann Arbor, MI. Compensation is $17–$21 per hour. The Dixboro Project’s bakery produces baked goods for The Dixboro House and The Boro. The cook executes daily pastry production and maintains quality, presentation, and food-safety standards. The role supports the bakery and pastry team in supplying products across the project’s restaurant and café operations, including during high-volume periods.

What you'll do

• Execute daily pastry prep lists
• follow recipes, techniques, and plating standards
• prepare cakes, pastries, laminated doughs, quick breads, and desserts
• finish plated desserts
• maintain portioning, scaling, and shaping standards
• label, date, store, and rotate products using FIFO and health-code standards
• maintain and operate equipment safely
• communicate production needs and product levels
• support production during high-volume periods
• contribute to product development and continuous improvement.
