What you'll do

• Set up and operate 5- and 3-axis machines, cutters, and work-holding tools
• calculate dimensions and tolerances using precision instruments
• machine parts to specifications
• align and secure fixtures and tools
• inspect completed parts for defects and conformance
• monitor machine feed and speed
• maintain machine tools
• deburr parts
• interpret sample parts, blueprints, and drawings
• diagnose malfunctions
• coordinate with engineering and inspection personnel
• assemble fixtures and cutters
• handle scrap and waste according to policy
• recommend machining improvements through the Kaizen process.
