The Physical Therapist Assistant Floater - Suffolk County is an onsite role based in Selden, NY, with travel throughout Central Suffolk County. The base salary range is $70,000-$80,000 per year. Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy is a multidisciplinary company dedicated to creating bonds with patients and the community. This role exists to provide physical therapy assistant coverage across all clinics in the region. The assistant works under the direction of a Physical Therapist to deliver high-quality patient care, helping patients achieve their functional goals.
What you'll do
- Actively participates in patient care, notifying the supervising Physical Therapist of matters concerning the patient's condition. Follows the Plan of Care established by the Physical Therapist and practices within state practice guidelines. Exercises sound judgement, care, professionalism and skill in the performance of duties. Instructs and counsels patients effectively in exercises and recovery. Identifies patient's needs and exhibits compassion and caring. Conveys potential modifications ensuring patient's progress, safety and comfort to the Physical Therapist. Completes documentation in the EMR to support the delivery of physical therapy services. Under direct supervision of and with co-signature by a PT, records daily notes. Provides information to patients by answering questions and requests. Helps treat patients by applying ice or heat packs, helping patients onto exercise equipment, monitoring motion

- performing prescribed exercises and strengthening techniques as requested by PT. Educates patients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercise routines. Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Reports any issues needing resolution to Physical Therapists.
