Registered Nurse, Correctional Health

The Registered Nurse, Correctional Health role is onsite in Aurora, CO, inside a correctional facility. Compensation is $44–$48 per hour. The posting requires a minimum of 15 hours per month and lists shifts of 6:00 AM–4:00 PM or 12:00 PM–10:00 PM. CorrHealth provides nursing services to incarcerated patients. The nurse assesses patients, responds to medical needs and emergencies, administers prescribed treatments, and documents care. What you'll do

• Assess new inmates and identify health problems
• initiate medical records and special-needs requests
• respond to routine medical issues and emergencies
• administer prescribed treatments and medications
• prepare equipment, records, and rooms for examinations
• maintain IVs as needed
• meet with the Health Services Administrator to review services
• follow emergency and triage procedures
• use medical equipment safely
• delegate tasks appropriately
• educate patients on diet, hygiene, and disease prevention
• maintain confidentiality and facility security.

Why this role

Requires an unrestricted Registered Nurse license, nursing-program degree or diploma, current CPR/BLS certification, and a current TB test. Correctional healthcare experience is preferred but not required.
