Vice President of Software

Job overview

The Vice President of Software role is onsite in San Francisco, CA, with regular in-office presence required. Compensation is $300,000–$310,000 per year, plus bonus and equity. Fellow designs functional kitchen tools, including connected coffee products, in San Francisco. The executive owns the software ecosystem across embedded firmware, control systems, mobile applications, and cloud backend. The role scales engineering teams and systems, sets technical direction, and improves delivery speed and reliability as Fellow’s connected product line grows.

What you'll do

• Design engineering team structure, processes, and operating systems
• lead the technical roadmap for embedded systems, control logic, mobile interfaces, and cloud services
• architect, write, review, and debug production software
• build reusable platforms, frameworks, APIs, and services
• establish CI/CD, automated testing, code review, and release practices
• consolidate repositories into modular architecture
• lead software test engineering
• remove development bottlenecks and improve cycle time
• own delivery, performance, and post-launch stability
• recruit, mentor, and retain engineering talent
• partner with the CEO and hardware teams on architecture and build-versus-buy decisions.
