This is a full-time, onsite position for a Director of Surgical Services RN in Anchorage, AK. The Director, Surgical Services RN serves as both the Operations Director and Nursing Director for Surgical Services at PAMC, overseeing multiple departments including Pre-Op Clinic, Ambulatory Surgery Unit, Pain Clinic, Operating Room, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit, Endoscopy, and Sterile Processing Department. What you'll do

• Oversee Pre-Op Clinic, Ambulatory Surgery Unit, Pain Clinic, Operating Room, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit, Endoscopy, and Sterile Processing Department.
• Formulate strategy, implement strategic plans, and ensure attainment of operating goals.
• Lead patient care areas to ensure safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and patient- and family-centered care.
• Advance Providence’s mission, philosophy, core values, and vision.
• Foster a Magnet culture.
• Evaluate organizational structure, reporting relationships, and leadership roles.
• Utilize staffing management principles.
• Monitor departmental, service, and program performance.
• Develop, implement, and manage the annual operating budget.
• Collaborate with OR Medical Director and physician leadership.
• Provide oversight for facility renovations.
• Represent Surgical Services on committees.
• Lead and participate in quality improvement, patient safety, environment of care, and regulatory readiness initiatives.
• Integrate evidence-based protocols and research findings.
• Establish systems for shared governance and nursing autonomy.
• Select, develop, evaluate, and promote leaders.
• Ensure timely performance evaluations, clear expectations, coaching, and constructive feedback.
• Foster a work environment that achieves high staff satisfaction, retention, and engagement.
• Collaborate with staff, providers, leadership, patients, and families.
• Maintain strong internal and external relationships.
• Serve as Chief Nurse Executive (CNE) designee and potentially rotate as Administrator on Call (AOC).

Final compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, organizational compensation alignment, and the approved hiring department budget for the position. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation and benefits.
