Temporary School Nurse

Job overview

The Temporary School Nurse role is onsite in Granite City, IL, with a stated schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for approximately 6–12 weeks. Compensation is $30–$40 per hour. The nurse supports EEP students and school staff. The role provides student health assessments, nursing care, medication administration, first aid, and referrals while maintaining health records and coordinating with families, prescribers, and school staff. It contributes to student health and safety during the school day.

What you'll do

• Assess and screen students, provide first aid, and administer prescribed daily and as-needed medications
• assess illness and contact parents when needed
• monitor students with diabetes and communicate dietary requirements
• coordinate meetings with prescribers, parents, and students
• maintain daily logs and health exclusion records
• orient staff to medical procedures and provide bloodborne-pathogen training and health education.
