Medical Assistant, Front and Back Office (Part-Time)

The Medical Assistant, Front and Back Office role is onsite in Fountain Valley, CA, with pay of $23–$25 per hour. The position supports Balboa United’s patient care management and its mission to deliver superior care to patients with kidney disease. This part-time clinical support role combines routine clinical and administrative work to help the office run efficiently and support patient care. The assistant prepares patients and exam rooms, supports physicians, and handles front-office communication, scheduling, records, and insurance tasks.

What you'll do

• Take medical histories and vital signs
• reconcile medication lists
• explain procedures
• prepare patients for in-person or telehealth appointments
• assist physicians during exams
• provide patient instructions
• authorize prescription refills as directed
• stock rooms and maintain instruments
• track supplies and required logs
• answer phones, greet patients, schedule appointments, update records, complete insurance forms, arrange admissions and lab services, handle correspondence, and collect copays. Travel to other sites may be required.

Why this role
