The Youth Advocate role is onsite in New York, NY. Compensation is $27.80 per hour. The position supports children, young adults, and families living in Community Access supported housing programs. Community Access provides supportive housing and social services in New York City. The advocate facilitates group activities and provides support that helps young people and families build community and pursue recreational, educational, health, and wellness interests. The role may also support individual youth in defining personal, educational, and vocational goals and developing service plans.

What you'll do

• Facilitate daily groups for children, youth, and families based on participants’ interests and ages
• develop and facilitate community-building, recreation, education, health and wellness, urban agriculture, nutrition, and off-site activities
• document group and individual services within 48 hours
• may work individually with youth on personal, educational, and vocational goals and service plans.

Why this role

Candidates must be young adults with lived experience in a child-serving system and be certified as a Youth Peer Advocate or able to obtain certification within one year of hire. Spanish bilingual ability is preferred.
