The Staff Electrical Engineer role is onsite in Portage, MI, with a global medical technology company. Pay is $77.50 per hour. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity supporting development of a next-generation surgical robotic platform. The engineer leads electrical subsystem development from concept through commercialization, integrating hardware with embedded software, mechanical components, and the broader robotic system. The work supports reliable product performance while addressing safety, manufacturability, cost, and risk.

What you'll do

• Lead electrical design and development of a robotic subsystem
• translate product and system needs into electrical requirements and designs
• develop complex PCBAs
• review layouts and perform board bring-up, characterization, testing, and debugging using Altium
• integrate electrical hardware with software and mechanical components
• make technical tradeoff decisions
• develop verification and EMC test strategies
• troubleshoot system issues
• support design documentation, risk management, design transfer, and commercialization.
