Special Projects Engineer

Job overview

The Special Projects Engineer role is onsite in Columbus, OH, with a base salary range of $75,000–$85,000 per year. The engineer supports branch revenue and gross-profit goals by managing assigned mechanical, electrical, and plumbing accounts, developing customer relationships, identifying system improvements, and coordinating proposals and project execution to meet customer needs.

What you'll do

• Support branch sales and operational gross-profit goals
• assist with assigned mission-critical MEP accounts
• make routine customer visits
• analyze mechanical systems and recommend repairs, replacements, upgrades, or retrofits
• prepare estimates and proposals
• coordinate with field personnel and branch teams
• review work onsite and complete material, labor, and equipment take-offs
• assist with project booking, cost management, billing, receivables follow-up, and strategic account planning.
