Weekend Evening Counselor

The Weekend Evening Counselor role is onsite in Port Jefferson, NY, on Saturdays and Sundays from 4 p.m. to midnight. Compensation is $21 per hour. The counselor supports Concern Housing’s direct services to clients and the overall operation of the site. The role provides direct care, counseling, and practical and rehabilitative support while helping clients build daily living skills. It also contributes to a safe, organized residential setting through site monitoring, activities, documentation, and safety checks.

What you'll do

• Provide direct care to an assigned caseload and document client progress
• monitor the site and participate in house activities, including meal preparation, chores, recreation, and safety checks
• facilitate food planning and teach clients weekly planning
• provide rehabilitative support in daily living and health services
• assist with housing maintenance issues
• monitor medication
• assist with client transportation
• attend staff meetings
• conduct monthly fire inspections
• and maintain required compliance documents and training.
