The Pilot role is onsite at Spaceport America in New Mexico; the annual base salary range is $260,000–$278,750. Virgin Galactic is developing human spaceflight for private individuals and researchers. Pilots support vehicle development and flight-test programs and operate commercial spaceflights. The role contributes to safe, regulated operation of the spaceflight system and its sub-orbital service for customer-astronauts and research-payload customers, alongside flight planning, mission support, training, and cross-functional operational work.

What you'll do

• Perform flight-test and commercial pilot duties on Virgin Galactic spaceflight system vehicles and other aircraft
• support flight planning and mission control
• develop training assets and vehicle operations documentation
• contribute to planning and testing follow-on vehicles
• maintain records and training obligations
• support safety, engineering, maintenance, commercial, marketing, customer hospitality, and training teams.
